The producers of Friday Night Sound Waves give you six more opportunities to check #41 off author Christiana Lilly’s “100 Things to Do in Fort Lauderdale Before You Die” list, with a Spring Revival of the popular free concert series at The LOOP ( Las Olas Oceanside Park ), April 21 through May 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Presented by the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Beach Business Improvement District, Friday Night Sound Waves welcomes locals and visitors, the young and the young at heart, to enjoy some of South Florida’s best musical talents, performing an eclectic range of genres ranging from Classic Rock to Latin Jazz, and Top 40 to Tribute Bands. Attendees are invited to come early to enjoy various pre-concert games on the main lawn starting at 5 pm, along with local artisan vendors and a rotation of food and drink vendors to sip, sup, and shop before, during and after the show.

April 21 The Goodnicks
Get ready to have a great time with The Goodnicks, a guitar-driven pop/rock/country band who will get everyone’s feet moving and hearts pumping with their infectious tunes from the 80s to today.
April 28 Higher Ground
Fort Lauderdale Air Show Kickoff Concert
Higher Ground is the talk of the town in South Florida’s live music scene. This young, energetic group has been rocking parties from Miami to Palm Beach with the best hit songs from every genre. Everywhere this band appears, people are immediately affected by their ‘infectious’ groove. Higher Ground has one of any cover band’s most diverse song lists. From Elton John to Elvis, Jay-Z to Ariana Grande, there is virtually nothing they can’t deliver.

Miami’s culture and nightlife have given birth to this new kid on the block. Energy with just the right chemistry, these young artists give new life to the classics, while playing all the hits from today’s biggest stars. Extasy is truly Miami, a synergistic blend of Latin and American cultures with music from both worlds. They are one of the most versatile live bands and can do 100% American-Top 40 hits, 100% Latin sets, or any mix of the two.
May 12 – Pure Heart & Mr. Nice Guy Band
Mother’s Day Weekend Concert Double Header
The Pure Heart band hails from South Florida and features six seasoned professionals performing the timeless classics of the band Heart, led by Hall of Fame artists and sisters Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson. The band tributes its success to the music and powerful hits of Heart that spans generations. The music is played and sung authentically, in true homage to Heart. Songs include “Barracuda,” “Dreamboat Annie,” “Alone,” “These Dreams,” “Magic Man,” “Love Alive,” “Crazy On You” and more. Additionally, Pure Hearts adds some of the favorites Heart chose to remake, including “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin and “Love, Reign O’er Me” by The Who.
Formed in 2002, Mr. Nice Guy (MNG) is one of the area’s most popular classic rock groups, delivering high-energy performances of some of the best music from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. In addition to a monster set list of classic rock cover songs, Mr. Nice Guy has original music and has recently been on tour, backing major acts such as ZZ Top. The special Mother’s Day weekend concert will feature guest, lead singer Maria De Cresano.
May 19 – Hot Brass
The Hot Brass featuring Debbie Pierce is a high-energy eight-to-ten-piece band featuring the music from the supergroup Earth, Wind, and Fire. This hot group also adds more flavor to the show with songs from the 2004 Chicago Earth, Wind and Fire World Tour. Leader Debbie Pierce is a multi-instrumentalist (Sax/Vocal/Flute) who has been performing in South Florida for over 20 years. The band is comprised of some of the best musicians in South Florida and consistently delivers not just great music but great entertainment too. Members have performed with artists such as JLo, Gloria Estefan, Jon Secada, and George Benson.
