Born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas, Travis Clarke began his musical journey at six, singing in church, competitions, and special events. At 17, he auditioned for BahaMen but had to decline due to school commitments. In 2009, he became the first Bahamian Idol, recording a cover of Perry Como’s “Prisoner of Love.” In 2011, Joe Jackson, Michael Jackson’s father, selected Travis at the “We Are the World Talent Showcase.” Travis then signed with Mar-Ance Records, with Joe Jackson managing his career.
Travis toured China extensively, performing in over 50 cities for nearly a decade. He has opened for artists like Red Foo (LMFAO), Kat Graham, Dita Von Tease, B.o.B., and Akon. In China, he became the first black independent artist to be featured in three commercials, contributing as a writer, co-producer, and singer. He also headlined Nike’s promotional tour in China.
In May 2022, Travis co-wrote and performed “Tsunami” for the off-Broadway show “Restoration,” promoting environmental awareness. Despite a health scare with a non-cancerous colon mass, Travis returned to music with renewed determination, writing songs about his struggles and triumphs.
