Ginetta’s Vendetta
Sound Waves Alumni: 2021
Celebrating ten years in 2026, Friday Night Sound Waves continues a simple belief: good music brings people together.
Our anniversary season honors the artists and moments that have shaped the series since day one.
Sound Waves alumni Ginetta’s Vendetta opens the 10-Year Anniversary season with an electrifying night of jazz led by internationally acclaimed trumpeter, vocalist, and bandleader Ginetta Vendetta. A true jazz ambassador, Ginetta brings a fearless, groove-forward sound rooted in tradition yet alive with personality, joy, and unmistakable presence.
For this opening night, Ginetta’s Vendetta features a stellar ensemble: Charlie Arbelaz on saxophone, Gianni Bianchini on piano, Alejandro Gonzalez on drums, and Josh Ewers on bass—musicians who listen, respond, and elevate the moment together, exactly the way Sound Waves nights are meant to unfold.

Ginetta’s single Friday Night Sound Waves appearance in 2021 became one of those nights people still talk about—featuring a special guest performance by Jessie Jones Jr. and an unscripted moment when Dillard School of the Performing Arts alumnus Miles Lennox stepped in on keys during the band break. Magical, generous, and entirely in the spirit of Sound Waves.
While her Friday appearance was singular, Ginetta has long been part of the extended Sound Waves family—bringing her signature style and holiday spirit to weekend daytime and seasonal market performances for several years, delighting audiences of all ages and becoming a familiar, welcomed presence.
Opening night is presented as a Tribute to Miles Davis, dedicated in loving memory of Roger David Viele, whose deep love of jazz—and of Miles Davis in particular—helped shape this series from its earliest days.
