Whether you are a budding Picasso or have not picked up a paintbrush since kindergarten, mural artist Djerlens ‘DJ’ Chery will work with you to recreate one of his four designs which will soon wrap Lifeguard Tower #7 on Fort Lauderdale Beach. The scene will feature aquatic life, including sea turtles and fish as photographed above.

While a beginners class, class is recommended for those 14+.

TIME: Class starts promptly at 11:00 am.
We recommend arriving Arrive 10-15 minutes early to get your supplies. If you are more than 15 minutes late to the class you may not be allowed to paint and your payment will be forfeited.

WHAT IS PROVIDED: Canvas, Easels, Paint, Brushes, Disposable Apron.

WHAT TO WEAR / BRING : Comfortable Clothing, Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Snacks. Food is also available onsite to purchase.

WHERE TO MEET : Meet oceanside, under the shaded area beneath the palm trees.

PARKING: Hourly parking is available at the Las Olas Beach Garage at 200 E. Las Olas Boulevard, as well as behind the Park at 401 Seabreeze Boulevard.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
At the age of 6, Djerlens Chery (DJ), discovered that he could draw. His first drawing was of Walt Disney’s, Mickey Mouse.
Although his dream was to be the next Michael Jordan, DJ’s dad knew what was good for him and went behind DJ’s back and signed him up for art class in 6th grade. He quickly realized that art was his passion.
Djerlens attended Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale where he continued his art education. He went on to attend the Visual Arts & Design Academy at Broward College where he studied Art Education.
His art has been displayed at the Bonnet House Museum & Gardens Orchid Festival, Young at Art Museum, Made in Broward, Joseph C. Carter Park, Parker Playhouse, K.C. Wright Art Show, FatVillage Artwalks, and has painted several murals in the City of Fort Lauderdale.
Djerlens is an art instructor for the Parks & Recreation Department of the City of Fort Lauderdale where he teaches young children, teens, and seniors. PAYMENT POLICY : Payment is due at the time of the reservation to guarantee your seat.
REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY : A refund will be issued if you cancel a reservation 7 days in advance. A credit will be given for individuals canceling with at least 24 hours notice. “No shows” will not be credit or refunds.
The LOOP and Artist reserve the right to cancel classes for unforeseen circumstances and inclement weather. Registrants will be notified at least 24 hours prior to class time and refunds will be processed.
